While having fun, members who participated in this event were also able to contribute to the positive impact the Boys & Girls Club makes every day in the Woburn neighborhoods. Some of the recent accomplishments of the Boys & Girls Club has made in Woburn are opening the doors for a longer time period (including Monday and teen only hours), receiving awards (regional and local) in Arts, Character, & Leadership and Education.
The donation that the office has given to the Boys & Girls Club has been greatly appreciated. The Boys & Girls Club Executive director, Carla Beaudoin, says that there has been “explosive growth with over 300 members attending daily.” This means that more than ever the Boys and Girls Club has been feeling more pressure to maintain their status as a positive environment and still be able to influence so many kids.
The winning team, Vincent Conley, J.C. Graziano, Will Crocker, and Mike Foustoukos may have had victory but every person that participated had something to be happy about, their contribution to society. This was one basketball tournament with no real losers.
