Hello Melbourne Welcomes the Range Rover 5-Door Evoque

July 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Last night Range Rover launched the new 5-Door Evoque model to Melbourne’s hip inner city crowd at a warehouse in Little Lonsdale Street. Guests were joined by Range Rover “city shapers” Sarah-Jane Clarke, Heidi Middleton, Peter Evans and Mia Freedman who welcomed new Range Rover ambassador Jennifer Hawkins.

As guests made their way down Little Lonsdale Street they were entertained by Melbourne street performers and graffiti artists, spray-painting bright blue tyre tracks leading from the unique “wireframe” sculptural interpretation of the Evoque which was suspended above the entrance.

MC Peter Evans welcomed global Managing Director of Range Rover, Phil Popham, who discussed the new model its accessibility to a younger inner city audience. The design of the Evoque 5-Door and Coupé took its inspiration from the architecture of the world’s leading cities.
 
“The ground-breaking, all-new Range Rover Evoque takes the brand into exciting new territory. Highly relevant and contemporary, the Evoque will appeal to a whole new group of customers who may not have considered a Range Rover before”, said Phil Popham. “The addition of the 5-Door to the line-up extends the appeal of our brand still further.”

Guests were treated to a preview of the white 5-Door Evoque and vibrant Coupé before they hit the Melbourne Motor Show this weekend.

“Hello Melbourne” was the latest instalment in a series of parties to launch the new SUV car throughout hot world cities, from New York to Paris, Sao Paulo to Milan, Berlin to Madrid and beyond. The evening channelled Melbourne’s unique inner city spirit, from the cobblestone laneways to iconic street performers, a lighting installation art piece, cool DJ artists and even a Theremin player.
