July 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Swansea Bay Summer Festival is set to host the highlight event of the summer.

Swansea Bay will make a spectacular backdrop for the Wales National Air Show on 9 & 10 July.

Air displays will feature the Red Arrows, Team Viper, Tornado GR4s, RAF Falcons parachute display, Black Cats helicopter display and much more.

This event is free, and thousands of people will enjoy a great day out.

Of course, Swansea has a plethora of other events.

The Following the Flame exhibition (until 10 July) at the Brangwyn Hall tells the history of the Olympic and Paralympic games and displays including gold, silver and bronze medals, three Olympic torches and interviews from over 80 Welsh Olympians and Paralympians.

Castle Square hosts free live screenings of Madam Butterfly (4 July) and Cendrillion (13 July) from the Royal Opera House.

Other upcoming events include Pennard Carnival (15 – 17 July), Gower Festival (16 – 30 July), Oystermouth Castle re-opening family event (16 July), Outdoor Theatre (3 & 4 August) and Miller by Moonlight (5 August)
