The busy South East
Figures for April to June 2011 showed requests for funding ranging from £100,000 to £5million with typical requests falling into the £300k to £600k range. Once again the South East and London represent the majority, with a 52% share ( including 22% from Greater London). The North West maintains its second place with almost 20%
FundingStore.com was founded by Nick Montague, a chartered accountant and business development advisor . He explains:
“Almost one in every three requests submitted is internet related, we are seeing many smartphone and iPad apps, plus some exciting new technology companies. There is also a clear rise in online service and retail businesses – which corresponds with recent announcements highlighting the increased level of activity from newly registered eBay traders across the UK.”
“But this level of activity can be a double edged sword. There is fierce competition to raise funding, and if your business proposition requires a large amount of finance or it will take considerable time before it generates revenue (let alone profit) then it is likely to be tough, unless you’ve created a “killer” app.”
