Strategic Book Group Expands to UAE

June 29, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK – As part of the Spotlight on Rights Program in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, U.S.-based Strategic Book Group applied for and was awarded a grant to publish a title from the UAE that will open its new PODG-UAE cooperation initiative.

Strategic purchased the right to translate and publish a children’s book by a leading Arabic children’s book publisher as part of the stipend program that encourages Arabic literature being published by other publishers around the world.

The Sheika of Sharjah owns the publishing company, Kalimat, which signed with Strategic.

The book by Fatima Sharrefidine is Kam Tuhibinani, which translates to How Much Do You Love Me? The author appeared with her book in the Business and Rights Centre during the recent Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, also attended by representatives of Strategic Book Group.

This purchase opens the door for more Arabic books to reach Western readers.
