PRLog - Jun. 28, 2011 - HOUSTON -- Houston - UniVoIP, a El Segundo, CA-based provider of business VoIP and hosted PBX phone systems for business, recently enrolled with the Green Business Bureau (GBB) to begin the process of becoming a green certified business.
“Living in Los Angeles, we are acutely aware of the impact of pollution,” says Steve Jelesijevic, UniVoIP Business Development Executive. “Since the Green movement's birth in the 60’s, our city has gone from one where regular smog alerts warned the air was so bad, children, the sick, and the elderly should not go outside for fear of immediate health risks, whereas today children have no idea what a “smog alert” is. Our Hosted PBX systems cut energy use and, with Teleworker functionality, cut both pollutive and carbon emmissions by eliminating the need to commute every day ”
The company has demonstrated this awareness by instituting an impressive list of green practices, including separation of trash (glass, aluminum), 100% compact fluorescent lighting with motion control, scrap paper reuse, paperless faxing and telecommuting.
Jelesijevic says that, through awareness and technology, UniVoIP looks forward to passing on a world that is in better condition than it is now. To that end, the company recently chose the GBB program to become green business certified.
“The GBB has an impressive list of members, national presence, well-produced and designed support material, and both premises certification and a member directory that can announce and inform other Green minded business about our Hosted PBX phone services,” says Jelesijevic.
“We want to be known nationally as both a green company and a vendor of a green product,” says Jelesijevic.
