‘Emotional Intelligence as Key to Effective Government Leadership’ Proves a Hot Topic at ASTD

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 28, 2011 - ARLINGTON, VA – June 28, 2011 - The American Management Association (AMA) Enterprise Government Solutions, the global leader of talent transformation dedicated to providing workplace learning for government organizations, had standing room only at its educational session at the recent ASTD (American Society for Training & Development) International Conference in Orlando, Florida. ASTD is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals; their recent conference was attended by 8,000 participants from more than 70 countries.

Almost 200 public sector learning professionals attended the AMA session on Emotional Intelligence as a Key to Effective Government Leadership, held at the ASTD Government Pavilion. This session was led by Harry White, one of AMA Enterprise’s most popular leadership development facilitators, and Sam Davis, VP, AMA Enterprise Government Solutions.

White noted: “Emotional Intelligence is being embraced by government human capital management officers because they recognize that they must focus efforts on retaining good talent and improving employee morale as well as training the leaders of tomorrow – and emotional intelligence supports both priorities.”
