Lakes Expedition Weekend
Fieldskills Director Dom Hall explains what the expedition will involve: “This is a great chance to see what expedition life is all about. Friday night should be quite comfortable – we’ll stay in a yurt near Grizebeck. On Saturday we’ll set off to find an isolated spot to make a jungle-style camp. I’ll show everyone how to use machetes to get firewood, put
up hammocks and bashas, and make a camp fire as well as trying out some jungle survival skills. We’ll spend the night in hammocks, then set off for the hills on Sunday to have fun with some expedition scenarios - crossing rivers, dealing with the unexpected and navigating our way back to Grizebeck.”
Fieldskills specialises in supporting safe and successful expeditions. They organise Adventure Travel expeditions in the UK, Borneo and Sinai and run a range of first aid and expedition safety and leadership courses. Dom continues, “We’re outdoors people and our courses and activities are down to earth and good fun.
