Missouri Celebrates 25 Wins in 90 days

New projects create more than 1,600 jobs throughout the State

June 27, 2011 - PRLog -- The Missouri Partnership, the state’s non-profit business attraction and marketing organization, along with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and regional development teams in Missouri, successfully finalized 25 projects for the state during the 1st quarter of 2011. These projects will create 1,627 jobs with a combined investment of more than $181 million.

“These recent projects, with their substantial new job creation and capital investment, are excellent news for the state of Missouri,” said David Kerr, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “Collectively, they are another indication that our state economy is moving in the right direction, and we continue to fight every single day, for every single job, to keep it moving one way: forward."

The many wins for the state so far this year include the following:

•   Doyle Equipment Manufacturing – Announced plans to move their headquarters to a $9 million, 220,000-square-foot facility in Palmyra, Mo. (92 jobs)

•   Applebee’s International - Announced the move of its administrative headquarters to Kansas City, Mo. (390 jobs)

•   Olympic Steel, Inc. – Selected Kansas City, Mo. for a new $1.3 million, 43,000-square-foot distribution center.  (15 jobs)

•   Flex-N-Gate – Signed a long-term lease for a new 148,800-square-foot, $7.6 million distribution space in Kansas City, Mo.  (300 jobs by 2016)
