Brightstorm Makes It Easy To Find Tutorial Videos For Textbooks

June 28, 2011 - PRLog -- As many busy teenage students have discovered, trying to understand textbook concepts can be frustrating.  Brightstorm - an online education service that provides students with thousands of free math and science videos - recently launched "textbook browsing" which allows students to quickly find relevant tutorial videos of Brightstorm using their textbooks.

"It's hard to find the exact information I need these days," says Brandon Zhang, Economics Major at UC Berkeley. "I know Brightstorm has what I’m looking for, but it sometimes takes too long to sort through all the videos.  I want to be able to find videos related to what I learned in class today.”

Brightstorm has responded by creating a user-friendly interface for browsing its videos using textbooks. When users select a chapter and a unit of their textbook or enter in a textbook page number, they will see a list of Brightstorm videos relevant to the unit or page they entered.  Brightstorm launched this new feature covering four textbooks in algebra, geometry, and algebra II. They will add more until they can cover most textbooks used in the U.S.

"Teenage learners are busy and have lots of distractions. Unless they find what they want immediately, they will lose interest and give up before they learn what they need,” says Bumsoo Kim, CEO of Brightstorm.
