It’s astonishing how much influence Facebook has on the internet and indeed on lives of so many users from every corner of the globe and of course  http://www.squidoo.com/facebook-northern-ireland-and-the-taty-farl Facebook Northern Ireland is no different.

Why Facebook Northern Ireland? Simple really FB has become everyone’s gateway to the web, communicating with friends and family is so easy, it’s free plus it allows expression, individuality and to an extent personalization.
In fact the influence is so great it actually appears quite remarkable to meet someone who doesn’t have a Facebook account, it’s like coming across the person who still does not own a mobile phone!
Nothing wrong with that of course but it demonstrates just how powerful Facebook has become. By and large high street business has embraced the opportunity and many are already capitalising, by communicating and offering deals to their following.
Purists will argue that the platform is not a sale room and that people join for the social aspect but the argument while not really against this notion strongly suggests that more and more users now also look to their Facebook as an opportunity to save on goods and services that they would otherwise have to pay usual prices for if purchased in the normal fashion. Everyone loves a bargain and more especially in these tough economic times, while the business owner’s relish the thought, free viral (word of mouth) advertising is easily accomplished and makes utilizing Facebook an straightforward decision.
The problem for local companies trying to maximise the potential is in attracting enough targeted users to their Facebook pages, local people who are likely to walk into their premises and spend real money with them. So a Belfast based publisher  has recently launched a new website under the unusual name of http://www.tatyfarl.com Taty Farl specifically set up to target local Facebook users and channel them to the pages of retailers and services they are interested in.
Can’t get any better, or can it? Well actually it can the company involved in setting this website up are taking it a step further by providing installation of a  Groupon style marketing system either on the customer’s existing Fan Page or completely new one, including shopping cart if required.
In reality this means that now, ‘offline’ high street business can function much the same as the mobile burger bar by simply taking their business to the customer. Facebook Northern Ireland is about to get even tighter.
