Goldy Locks Crosses Cultural Lines with Wedding Song

June 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Less than a month after it’s release, the single “It’s a Sure Great Day for a Wedding” by Goldy Locks has already started to take on a life of its own.

The independent release has been offered as a free download to brides-to-be and the video for the single has received nearly 4,000 views.

Now, Goldy has learned, the song has taken on a life of its own-- one that she couldn’t have foreseen.

Unknown to Goldy Locks, a friend in San Francisco handed off he vocal tracks to another friend in Los Angeles who remixed it. Since the recent signing of the same sex marriage the remix has taken off, making its way through cyberspace as an mp3 and being played in clubs in San Francisco and New Orleans.

Goldy Locks said she isn’t sure yet just how big the remix has become... or exactly what it sounds like.

“I’ve yet to really hear it,” she said. “I heard a clip over a friend’s phone and about freaked.”

Goldy Locks has long has close ties to  the gay and lesbian community. In school, she was an unpopular student and often picked on. In turn, she became a protector of the picked on kids, many of whom where homosexual.

“I was a really strong kid and would knock out or bite anyone who crossed my path,” she said. “I stood up for all of those kids growing up.”

Since taking on her music career, she has found those early efforts reciprocated.

“They’ve become our support base... calling them fans just doesn’t do them justice. They support us in just about everything we do. They come to every show, buy our merchandise, promote us and the most precious thing is they listen to our bullshit,” she said.

With two versions of “It’s a Sure Great Day for a Wedding” now in the public eye, Goldy Locks is hoping to see her single really take off.

“A radio friend of mine said you can’t hide a hit song, and in his opinion that’s what this is. So I guess maybe some others think the same thing & I’m blown away,” she said.
