June 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Electric underfloor heating is an alternative to conventional central heating and can be installed in any room of your choice. The absence of radiators is one advantage and the gentle heat that radiates from the floor upwards is described by many home owners as a more subtle heat.

Electric underfloor heating systems have evolved over the last couple of years and are now easier to install, the warmup electric underfloor heating is relatively easy to install and works well around awkward bends and in smaller rooms.

When home owners decide to have underfloor heating installed, the flooring option also has to be considered and Tiles work incredibly well over underfloor heating. Tiled floors are popular because they add elegance and style and because they are easy to clean which is really important in kitchens and busy areas of the home.

In the summer months tiled floors are cool underfoot but come the winter months, the tiles can feel a little cold. Many home owners lay rugs in order to minimise the cold underfoot but with underfloor heating, the tiles will feel cosy and warm.

Natural stone products work well with electric underfloor heating systems and there are many materials in the natural stone range in which to choose from. Marble, slate and flagstones are all ideal for floors and work well with underflloor heating. Many natural stone products are very thermally conductive meaning the heat will distribute through their material very well.

Ceramic tiles are considered one of the best floor tiles to work with underflloor heating systems, they have a very high thermal conductivity making hem an excellent solution. Ceramic tiles are also great in the summer months, offering a cool feel.

Laminate tiles are easy tiles to install and also look and feel elegant and stylish, they also work incredibly well under electric underfloor heating systems. Heat is distributed through laminate tiles really well and they are a strong and durable solution.

Carpet is also a good floor covering to use with underfloor heating although you must ensure that the thickness and the underlay do not exceed certain thicknesses in order to have a good heat distribution.

All good Tile stores will be able to advise on good tile materials to use with underfloor heating systems and there is a wide choice of designs and styles in which to choose from. Ceramic tiles especially now come in many styles, designs and shades and there is almost certainly a style that will suit your personal preferences.
