2011 Indy Pro Am Summer League Set To Tip-off With George Hill, Eric Gordon And Other Fan Favorites

June 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The Indy Pro Am summer basketball league returns to Indianapolis June 28 along with several familiar faces like Eric Gordon, Zach Randolph, Gordon Hayward, Ron Artest, Jeff Teague, DJ White and George Hill.  NBA and NCAA sanctioned, professional athletes from the NBA, Euroleague, and NBDL are scheduled to play in the popular summer games along side top student-athletes from IUPUI, Butler, Indiana University, Cornell, Indiana State, University of Pennsylvania, Ball State, and University of Indianapolis, to name a few.  Indianapolis native and newest member of the Indiana Pacers, George Hill, has been a frequent competitor in the Indy Pro Am summer league since its 2009 inception, and is impressed with the 2011 line-up.
     “The Indy Pro Am grows stronger every summer,” commented Hill.  “Knox has done a great job recruiting the top talent, and creating a safe and competitive atmosphere.”
Carlos Knox, a mentor of Hill’s and several others of Indy’s elite, was the first player in IUPUI basketball history to have his jersey retired by the school.  The founder and director of the Indy Pro Am Summer League, Knox encourages participation for those athletes looking to stay in shape and develop and strengthen their game.
     “We’re quickly becoming recognized as the best Pro Am in the Midwest.  Two more teams have been added to the league this summer, and dozens of quality players had to be turned away.  Next year, we might have to go to a longer schedule to accommodate the interest.”  
    Four games are scheduled at “The Jungle” every Tuesday and Thursday evening starting at 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
