Hailed by the CTO as “one of the most revered and respected names in Jamaica’s tourism industry”, Ms. Dwyer has joined a distinguished cadre of past recipients of the CTO Allied of the Year Award including: Hon. Luis Simo, Minister of Tourism, Dominican Republic and Hugh Riley, Secretary General, CTO.
Dwyer who recently retired after 10 years as Director of Sales at the prestigious Half Moon Resort, Montego Bay, co-founded Glamour Destination Management Company with Roy Anderson in 1987, virtually pioneering structured, professional, destination management in Jamaica.
Their daughter, Rachel Anderson was recently named Director – Business Expansion & Development of the 25-year old company which now boasts a robust Caribbean and international client base and has carved a niche for itself as Jamaica’s leading destination management company.
CTO “Caribbean Week” 2011 saw three other Jamaican women being honoured for their contributions to the tourism sector and the news media. They were: Jacqueline Johnson, President & CEO, Global Bridal Group; Sarah Greaves Gabbadon, Deputy Director, Caribbean Travel & Life and Winsome Charlton of WAVS Radio in New York.
