“If you are a fan of 1980s music, you’ll love both of the bands lined up to perform this weekend,” says Director of Marketing for Lake Arrowhead Village Rebecca Smith. “Ghost in the Machine plays music made popular by Police and Sting. And Lights is a tribute to Journey.”
Friday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Ghost in the Machine
The members of Ghost in the Machine have been playing together for six years. Three years ago, they decided to turn their Police and Sting repertoire into a complete Police/Sting tribute show, to the delight of fans across the country. The edge for Ghost in the Machine is that, as a musical tribute show, they are able to reproduce Sting’s recordings and live shows more accurately than the typical tribute, which sticks to the three-piece complement of the original Police. Ghost in the Machine plays all of the popular Police hits, as well as many of Sting’s more recent music, which results in a show that appeals to a variety of age groups.
Saturday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. Lights
Performing more than 300 shows in less than five years, LIGHTS from Los Angeles has developed a devoted fan base—not just in Southern California, but all across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. The group is popular because they deliver high-energy, enthusiastic shows and musical integrity through note-for-note renditions of Journey classics. If you’re a Journey fan, you’ll love LIGHTS, a band that delivers the “wow factor” with every show.
Continuing weekend nights and special holiday dates through mid-September, the Summer Concert Series features popular solo artists such as Leif Garrett and Antonio Pontarelli and renowned groups like the Spazmatics, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, the Jay Blues Band and Martha Davis & the Motels. Talented tribute bands will include Eagles’ tribute Desperado; Pink Floyd tribute Which One’s Pink; and an Aerosmith Tribute band, Aeromyth.
While festival seating for the concerts is free, tables can be reserved for $100 (for a full table/which seats up to 10) or $50 (for a half table, which seats up to 4).
