Simplifydigital.com comments on Ofcom-approved spectrum trade

June 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Media regulator, Ofcom, has recently announced that after the spectrum auction, mobile operators will be able to trade their wireless mobile network licences in the 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2100MHz bands.
According to the regulator, this move will help to enhance performance of the service as well as its capacity which means rural coverage will see vast improvements.
Ofcom issued a statement which said:
"There are 80 million mobiles in the UK and more than 12.8 million of these are smartphones, used by people to access the internet. This is placing big demands on mobile spectrum.”
Geoff Slaughter, Head of Online at Simplifydigital.com, commented on the move:

“This latest move by Ofcom has resulted in a lot of posturing by rival mobile networks, the outcome of which is not yet clear.
