The ‘Tour de Frog’ Ribet Red release is also joined by the new Arrogant Frog Ribet Rosé 2010; a beautifully vibrant rosé, grown between the Mediterranean Sea and the Hérault Valley. Rosé is now increasingly a style for all seasons and perfectly matched to Australia’s fusion cuisine.
Winemaker, Jean-Claude Mas, is a fourth generation vigneron called the ‘humble winemaker’; although he has much reason to be proud. Jean-Claude was born in the Languedoc, and studied in Lyon, Nancy, and England, gaining his MBA. He worked in Miami, Paris and Bordeaux in the sports car business and was later a racing car driver; but Jean-Claude always retained his passion for wine. In the mid-1990s, he combined his Languedoc wine roots, fast lifestyle and entrepreneurial skills to establish Arrogant Frog, which now sells in excess of 10 million bottles annually.
Arrogant Frog is not like every other French wine. They use low input practices, modern winemaking techniques and irreverently snub stuffy French flavours in favour of fresh, abundant fruit expressions. Most important of all, it’s exceptional quality for the price and bound to impress. It’s no wonder it’s Australia’s Favourite Frog.
