June 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Rancho Santa Margarita, California—While everyone else was enjoying the Memorial Day weekend off from work, one Rancho Santa Margarita family truly experienced a day they’ll never forget. Thankfully, the team at Doctor’s Ambulance was on-call and alert while Orange County celebrated our men and women in uniform. When an emergency occurred, Doctor’s Ambulance was there to assist and save a man’s life.

At the flash of a code-2 call, Doctor’s Ambulance dispatched Chad Duncan and Andy Savage, professionally trained and certified EMTs, to Rancho Santa Margarita. Only 30 seconds after dispatch, they were on full alert and responded immediately to the incident. Luckily, the Doctor’s Ambulance team was very close to the scene.

At the scene of the incident, family members anxiously waiting outside frantically waved them in, but Chad and Andy remained calm as they gathered their gear and moved upstairs to help the man. The family had applied CPR, but the Doctor’s Ambulance team wasted no time taking over and hooked the man up to an automated external defibrillator to administered shock. Seconds later, the man’s pulse resumed to a regular rhythm.  Within minutes, the paramedics arrived on the scene.

“We were just doing our job, what we’re trained to do,” explained Andy. “Thanks to some great teamwork with Chad, everything turned out really well. This is why I love my job—helping people in this way is so fulfilling.”

Without Doctor’s Ambulance and their team of expert EMTs, help might have arrived too late, and the man very likely would have lost his life.

“We’re so proud of the speed and ability that Andy and Chad used to save this man,” comments Dave Sanford, Business Development Director of Doctor’s Ambulance. “They absolutely represent what Doctor’s Ambulance is all about. It’s employees like Andy and Chad that help us give the community the most efficient ambulance response and allow us to be valuable partners to our OCFA Paramedics.”

Doctor’s Ambulance has served the emergency medical transport needs of communities throughout Orange County since 1974, proudly serving the citizens of Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Irvine, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Juan Capistrano and Tustin as their 9-1-1 transportation provider.
