Bringing signed petitions from nearly 600 Tea Party Members, representatives of the Greater Lowell Tea Party, Merrimack Valley Tea Party, Northborough Tea Party, Greater Waltham Tea Party, North Shore Tea Party, Worcester Tea Party and the Southern New Hampshire 912 Project will meet with sixteen members of Congress. Washington, DC – June 22, 2011 – A delegation of Tea Party members from the above Tea Parties in New England will be visiting with key members of Congress on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in their offices in DC. Meetings are scheduled with House Speaker Boehner’s office, Sen Rubio's office, Rep. Issa's office, Rep. King's office, and Sen. DeMint's office. We will be carrying petitions signed by nearly 600 Tea Party members and citizens. The petition reads: Citizens Petition to Congress to Stop Spending We, the undersigned members and friends of the Greater Lowell Tea Party, do hereby support and encourage the fundamental principles of the Tea Party Movement across America: 1. Limited government, 2. Reduced taxation, and 3. Decreased spending. In support thereof we submit the following: The will of the Tea Party must be reflected in your voting over the critical next year. We, the undersigned voters, implore you to vote: • To stop out of control spending, • To reduce the national debt and • To repeal/defund Obamacare. It is in the best interest of America and the Tea Party that the principles stated above become and remain a major focus of your voting in 2011 and 2012.
