Dr. Andre Broussard Appointed to New Position

June 21, 2011 - PRLog -- During the recent annual Convention for the Texas Chiropractic Association (T.C.A.), Dr. Andre Broussard was sworn in as the new Coordinator for the Department of Scientific Affairs for the Texas Chiropractic Association by the newly elected present, Dr. Jorge Garcia.

Dr. Broussard will head up the T.C.A.'s clearinghouse for scientific and practice information important to the Chiropractic profession in Texas.  His department will help support the activities of the Legislative Affairs, State Affairs, Letigation, Public Relations and Insurance Relations and other committies and the T.C.A. membership as necessary.

He also assists the Medical Advisor for the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (TDI-DWC) in reviewing the quality of health care provided in the workers’ compensation system and take appropriate action as needed.  In addition to reviewing health care providers that deliver services, TLC also requires TDI-DWC to review actions of peer review doctors, designated doctors, utilization review agents, and independent review organizations.  More information on the nature of this work can be found here:  http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/hcprovider/medadvisor.html.

Dr. Broussard practices chiropractic and acupuncture Lubbock, Texas, and has been serving the West Texas community for 20 years.  His interests include non-surgical treatment for neck pain, severe headaches, back pain and herniated discs.  He also focuses on nutritional intervention for regaining and maintaining health, and is currently enrolled in a course in Functional Medicine.
