PRLog - June 21, 2011 - BOSTON -- Best New Construction of 2011 went to ZeroEnergy Design at the Perspective in Design Awards for the English Residence -- a modern LEED Gold certified home located in Orleans, Massachusetts. The Perspective in Design Awards were established to recognize “the exceptional creativity and talent of New England’s residential design professionals.”
Award Winning & LEED Certified English Residence
As both the architect and mechanical designer for the home, ZeroEnergy Design worked together with Cape Associates, a Cape Cod custom builder, to manage the home through to completion.
The award winning design reflects the homeowners modern sensibilities and environmental philosophy, while planning for their future full-time relocation to the property. The modern exterior is composed of three unique forms delineated by geometry, use, and material, with autumnal inspired colors. Indoor and outdoor connections offer living within the surrounding natural environment, especially on the second level with its outdoor kitchen, deck for birdwatching, and live roof garden.
The home has 60% better energy performance than a new code built home, due to a tight building envelope without thermal bridging, high efficiency condensing boiler with radiant floors, heat recovery ventilator, and a solar electric system.
"We are thrilled to win Best New Construction the Perspective in Design Awards, and are always honored when our work is singled out as an example of innovative design and excellence in sustainability,”
