Brides Will Be Spending More Time on Their Mobiles Than Ever

The new Australian wedding planning app that's attracting glowing reviews from brides and businesses alike.

June 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Adelaide, South Australia, June, 2011-- Recently released wedding planning mobile app, Wedding Girl, developed by local company, Enabled, and wedding planner, Cindy Westphalen, is attracting international interest and approval from brides and businesses alike.

Designed to be Australia’s most comprehensive wedding planning app, complete with its own directory of wedding suppliers, the app has surprised developers by gaining downloads overseas, particularly in the US and Middle East. Grant Hull, Director of Enabled, the digital media company that developed the app, said, “Although they obviously weren’t our target market, it suggests two things: first, that brides all over the world are looking for tools to help planning their big day easier, and second, that our aim to make this the most useful wedding app available was achieved.”

Despite the positive international interest, the response from Australian brides and businesses has been even greater. “If the pace of downloads continue,” Grant said with a smile, “a significant number of Australian brides-to-be will be spending a lot more time on their iPhones.” Australian wedding suppliers have also jumped at the opportunity to be included in the directory, with thousands of businesses around Australia paying the annual fee to be on the app.

To date, Wedding Girl has received almost all five star reviews, with iTunes App Store user, Jonesy7709, commenting: “The Wedding Girl App is an excellent product. It really has an edge over other apps with its wedding tools, allowing us to plan, organise, and effectively manage every part of our big day!”

The glowing reviews are reflective of the intention for the app to be designed with the bride in mind. Grant explained, “We wanted to make the app incredibly useful and usable for brides. Cindy’s 20 years experience in the wedding planning industry was crucial to this - she has an intimate understanding of the processes a bride goes through in planning her wedding, and helped us understand this too. Enabled’s job was applying that knowledge to the functionality and screen-size of an iPhone.”

In addition to the supplier directory, Wedding Girl features a range of tools including a seat planner, RSVP tracker, customisable checklists and more. The app is available for free in the iTunes App Store.

Encouraged by the national response, Cindy Westphalen, owner and initiator of Wedding Girl, is planning continued enhancements and expansion of the app to maintain its position as the best wedding planning app available.
