A Toys Orchestra: If Mr. Tim Burton Ever Met Them, They Would Play under The Snowflakes

It's hard to talk about A Toys Orchestra, their music moves in the realm of bowels. So far away from that false ego dressed up as deep concepts and intents. So different from that vain exhibitionism on a stage that we keep on calling “rock”. Enzo, Ilaria, Andrea and Raffaele drown daffodils in the mirror and despite the major success of 2010 album Midnight Talks (Urtovox), human beings are not essentially ready for their sound, their lyrics or just the sweetness, anger, passion, bluntness of a Tim Burton's fantasy in the flesh. This (could be) A Toys Orchestra, or simply THE TOYS, to those ones who already know-listen to-love-follow them … Mostly only since 2007, after the release of the album Technicolor Dream.
However, THE TOYS have been playing since 1998 and they have released four studio albums, they were born in Agropoli (Salerno, Italy) but they sing in perfect English (this is for all those people who think they are able to but they're not!); they could remind us of The Beatles, Pulp, The London Suede, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, the piano of Amélie Poulain, the lullabies of the carillon dancers, David Bowie first releases and more and more and more the Jonny Greenwood guitar style … NOTWITHSTANDING we definitely could start to define them by their name A TOYS ORCHESTRA, since they cannot be compared to any other bands and their blend is absolutely unique and therefore, the most original.

The Midnight Talks tour is almost over. The guys are currently completing their next album which will be out October 2011 (the month of the pumpkins and  Jack Skellington) and meanwhile it is already possible to listen to their new EP – Rita Lin Songs - that includes a cover of “The Chaffeur” (one of the most beautiful songs of Duran Duran), the Italian version of “Celentano” from “Midnight Talks”, a remix of  “Plastic Romance” and 3 new releases.
In spite of everything, THE TOYS are coming to meet us and play again under the Tuscan sun and stars on June 24. in Arezzo, on the occasion of the Music Festival organized by Associazione Concerto per un Amico (it's FREE, so you have to be there!).

Ultimately, if you love deeply Tim Burton and you have read “the nursery rhymes” about the weird children of the book The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories (The Boy with Nails in His Eyes, Roy – the Toxic Boy, Junk Girl, The Pin Cushion Queen etc.) well, the characters (the melancholy mixed with disappointment-sensitiveness) of the songs of Midnight Talks, Technicolor Dream, Cuckoo boohoo and Job, seem to spring from those pages… The Toys themselves have given birth to Hengie Queen of The Border Line (your make-up has melted, confide in cats), Mrs Macabrette (where her tears fell one day, now grows the weeping willows), Frankie Pyroman (but you were there in your flaming dress, and I was dying to ask you to dance...) but they could play and dance under the snowflakes, next to the castle of Edward Scissorhands high on top of that hill, in the Sleepy Hollow woods together with the fairy-mother of Ichabod Crane, surrounded by the heartbreaking butterflies of Emily The Corpse Bride or in the moonlight, near the bank of the lake of Big Fish.

On the basis of the above-mentioned reasons and MUCH MORE, if you have never met them or you love them already and you miss them to death, come round and see Ilaria, Enzo, Raffaele, Andrea and their Orchestra of Toys and let yourselves be ravished by the fairytale atmosphere (not at all mawkish) of Midnight Talks. If they won't reach you heart, you might be made of stone or... Recycled plastic and we are (a little) sorry for you...
