Southwest Florida Families Get Day on the Water Thanks to Cruise Naples & Local Church

June 20, 2011 - PRLog -- On Saturday, June 11, Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church partnered with Cruise Naples to hold its Second Annual Fishing Tournament. As a result, 60 adults and over 30 children, some who could not otherwise afford a guided fishing trip, were given the opportunity to experience a morning on the open water.

"I have not had a day off in a long time; it was a real blessing to be out on the water and simply fish today,” stated one of the participants.

The age range was significant – 4 to 84 years old, but everyone was an angler for the day. Grouper, snapper and the occasional shark were among some of the fish caught during the trip. “The Cruise Naples staff was great and understanding with both children and inexperienced anglers,” commented Father Edward Gleason, Associate Rector, Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church.

Father Gleason went on to say "The Second Annual Trinity-by-the-Cove Fishing Tournament was a smashing success thanks to the amazing work of the Cruise Naples captains and staff.  All of the anglers from the church caught fish! There is nothing quite like 30 children clamoring to tell you what kind of fish they caught as parents cannot help but smile at their children's enthusiasm.”

The Tournament was made possible through the work of the Captain’s Committee made up of Carl Angstrom, Harry Coleman, Father Edward Gleason, Captains Lance and Harry Julian, John Melton, Mick Moore, Rocky Scofield, Jay Tompkins, Bert Warner, Casey Weidenmiller and Jim Wheeler.
