Motif Moose Jaw Multicultural Festival has been in operation since 1974. Our mission is to promote cultural awareness by providing a venue for multiculturalism. Motif strives to maintain Canadian harmony and to promote the strengthening our community and our nation. Motif is a festival in which the whole family can enjoy; there is something for everyone! Happy Valley Park is arranged as a small village, made up of many cultural booths that are displayed in a horseshoe shape which feature the cuisine, art, and artifacts of their heritage. During the three-day festival, there are continuous multicultural performers appearing on the main stage, which falls under a canopy of beautiful Oak trees.
Children have an excellent opportunity to be involved in the experiences absolutely free, as well with a Children’s Cultural Program. This program offers the opportunity to explore new cultures through various games, crafts, and languages.
• With various participating cultural groups providing ethnic food sales and entertainment, the year’s festival is sure to be a great success! The festival is very excited to host some tremendous guest performers, including Desperate for Haggis, Ya La Habibi Dancers, German Jr. Folk Dancers, KG Harmonie Dancers, D.O. Slang, and Prince Niah (Contortionist and fire eater).
Bring your friends and family and experience Motif 2011 –“Travel the world in Three days!” Have a blast taking in the performances, tasting the food, and enjoying the unique arts and crafts. We encourage everyone to bring lawn chairs and to please leave all pets at home due to health regulations.
