June 20, 2011 - PRLog -- The I’mPOSSIBLE. conversation: revealing the truth about the experience of British women of colour in the 21st century

I’mPOSSIBLE. created history on Wednesday June 15, 2011 when they created a platform for British women of colour experiences to be heard through their event; the I’mPOSSIBLE. conversation. Tameka Empson, Angela Ferreira, Bonnie Greer OBE, Angie LeMar, Precious Williams and Charlene White gave their pearls of wisdom, funny recollections and experiences to a packed, engaged audience from all walks of life.

Actress and comedienne Tameka Empson, hosted the evening in her well-known comedic flair which helped keep proceedings light especially around the emotive subjects of: access to opportunity and feeling invisible. Laughter, joy, and tears were shared with the audience as the stories told resonated deeply with the audience. With pens poised, the exchange of knowledge, skills and tools for success were eagerly noted by the audience at B.Hive.

Simone Bresi-Ando, I’mPOSSIBLE. founder commented: “To see my idea blossom into a force for good which positively affects everyone in that room and beyond is really where the passion of I’mPOSSIBLE lies. We changed lives tonight by simply showing the audience that they are POSSIBLE because they have the ability, choice and drive to define success on their own terms, unapologetically.”

Tumi Soyinka product manager for MIZANI UK said: “Tonight, we have seen the creation of what is an influential, inspiring and empowering movement. MIZANI is proud to have powered this sensational event; the first of many, I’m sure. We are thrilled to be a part of this motivational platform.”

Tameka Empson, host for the night said: “I love to make people laugh, that’s natural to me, but I understand we all need balance and an event like this gives balance to the representation of British women of colour.”

Angela Ferreira, panellist commented: “This is a great event. It’s unique and perfectly positioned to make a lasting and positive impact to all that come into contact with it.”
Bonnie Greer OBE extolled: “This was a very powerful event. Organisations like I’mPOSSIBLE. and events like this are the future for women of colour in Britain.”

Angie LeMar commented on why she was involved with the event: “I wanted to help show black women in ways that hadn’t been seen….it is good that we have a platform to share our stories.”

Precious Williams said in conversation: “I was told from an early age that I was not possible…you can turn negative things to your own advantage.”
Charlene White said: “Events like these are not only positive but help you to grow your network, it’s a pleasure to be involved.”

The I’mPOSSIBLE conversation is a prime platform to help educate and empower women of colour in Britain by showcasing their successes, life stories and testimonies that often get overlooked or ignored. The conversation helps to provide the audience with tools for success as well as signposting information that can empower them.
