A Reality TV Series Concept

June 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Everyone has told the Novice he will not make it as a writer, let alone as a character in a Reality TV series in New York.

John Reyer Afamasaga has only been self-published online in the GUIOPERA and other short stories at his website www.etfiction.com.

His aim is to write the GUIOPERA, which stands for Graphical User Interface Opera, an online series that runs from September 5 to December 25 in New York in 2012. Another goal for the writer is to get a film or TV series deal with a major producer or studio.

The reality TV series will follow the cut-throat creative John Reyer, a known player, as he tries to set himself up in New York to write his serial that gets published online daily September 5 to December 25 in 2012.

The Internet is littered with PR dating as far back as 2007 in which the Novice has managed to drop names like Letterman, Leno, Murdoch, Scarlett Johansson, and Brad Pitt to name a few—just Google “LMLA-ink Press Release.” Charismatic Afamasaga, who has a colorful past, is convincingly fast-talking when he has to attract sponsors and stars to appear in his series, and therefore, in the story he’s writing.

The GUIOPERA is based on John Reyer’s core characters from his label www.etfiction.com. John Lazoo from New York is his lead character and the star of his first eBook John Lazoo. Lazoo came to New York after he was released from prison at the age of twenty-one.

Afamasaga feels so close to Lazoo and his other characters that he has written himself into the storyline. His Metafiction technique allows him to play with the line between fiction and reality, bringing an added dimension to the Novice’s work.

John Reyer Afamasaga, the real person, claims he’s reformed and no longer a player and is a likeable character, but he is still trying to prove he’s a stand-up guy as stories about his past continue to surface. He recently returned to Wellington in New Zealand, his hometown, to write this year’s (2011) upcoming GUIOPERA, and he will go to America in 2012 to find the actor to play Lazoo, his main character, a metaphor for making it in the Big Apple.

The Novice’s strategy for making it in NYC is to write his GUIOPERA in the city he so often drops into his story as the place where he’s already famous when he writes scenes about his fans who flock to Times Square to read one of his LATEST UPLOADS.

The Novice, who has communicated with people in New York over the past five years, tries to make contact with one such person, a writer for the Letterman show, whose approval the Novice has gotten to write a stage play; in the end, the Novice uses the approval to post press releases using David Letterman and Jay Leno’s names in an article created for search engine optimization for his work. Rudy Cecera the writer in question has not returned emails from the Novice advising Rudy that he’s coming to New York and asking Rudy whether he would want to come on the Reality TV show….

The Pitch
The Novice is presented with the opportunity of a lifetime for his work when he manages to secure an impressive audience to pitch his concept, the GUIOPERA, to.
Can the Novice make the most of the opportunity and close the deal when he is offered a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal in which a major brand allows the Novice to write its product into the GUIOPERA?

The ultimate outcome is when the GUIOPERA appears on the screen at Times Square for people to read when the Novice does his LATEST UPLOAD.

The Volunteer
Since changing his ways, the Novice has taken up helping others. He’s been volunteering in New Zealand for NZ Refugee Services helping settle a family from Columbia in New Zealand.
The Novice goes to visit a contact at the United Nations where the Novice also applied for work so he could get to New York to write his GUIOPERA.

The Novice appears on a Radio/TV show to promote the GUIOPERA.

Summary
The show follows the Novice as he writes the GUIOPERA, ending on Christmas Day, when he uploads the finale—the last chapter of his online saga.
