June 20, 2011 - PRLog -- India is set to take 21 century by storm. It is poised to become one of the largest economies of world. The industries are flourishing, exports are growing and Indians are contributing to innovation again. India’s presence is noticed by the rest of the world.

Yet some 250 years ago, this same nation lost its independence to British Empire. Mere 60 years ago, India regained its independence after decades of freedom struggle.

The author discusses the premise of that sad part of Indian history.

How possibly that could have happened? After all India always has been one of the largest economies of world. It had access to all the modern science and technology that the colonial powers had. British rule was not a conquest of Indigenous people by a superior culture. That was the fight between equals. Then what happened? More importantly will it happen again? Is India walking down the same path as its past and repeating the mistakes?

Author wants to trigger soul searching in minds of reader especially the young generation.

The young generation of India takes pride in its progress but at same time they are baffled by widespread corruption, social inequality and lack of justice. Today India moves ahead with the bandage of religions, castes and languages. India’s enemies and people of selfish motives are exploiting these weaknesses for their benefits. Progress is changing the family values and work ethics. Is India leaving something good behind as it hurries on the path of progress? It’s up to the readers to decide.

In his book, Author narrates a fiction about English Conquests of Kadamba, which highlights the social and political environment of 18th century India. It tells how the conquest happened but also discusses what should have really happened. More importantly it highlights many achievements of India which many Indians are not aware off. Some of that knowledge is also a great world heritage. The story is interesting read about how the life was in 18th century India with all its happiness and miseries. It’s a great peak in old Indian culture and may encourage readers to explore rise and decline of Indian Civilization over past millennia.
