June 17, 2011 - PRLog -- The FREE 2011 Lake Arrowhead Village Summer Concert Series continues this Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 on Center Stage. Underwritten by the Lake Arrowhead Village, the Village Merchants Association, Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc., KOLA 99.9 FM, the Rim of the World Historical Society and Ontario Reign, the concert lineup this weekend will showcase two popular tribute bands. Both events begin at 6:30 p.m.

“The weather in Lake Arrowhead is beautiful right now,” says Director of Marketing for Lake Arrowhead Village Rebecca Smith. “It’s perfect for an open-air concert. So grab your lawn chairs and head on up the hill Friday or Saturday. Or, better yet, stay all weekend.”

Friday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. The Byrds Collective
A five-man band made up of veteran Los Angeles-area musicians and singers, The Byrds Collective shares a collective passion for the music of the Byrds, the first and, some believe, best folk rock group of the 1960s…their LA sound dominating popular music for decades. In addition to playing Byrds’ classics with amazing fidelity to the originals, the Byrds Collective gives multimedia shows which immerse audiences in the heady days of the 1960’s.

Saturday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. Tombstone Shadow
The only tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival and the songwriting excellence of John Fogerty, Tombstone Shadow is made up of a close-knit group of musicians who have been friends for decades and part of a band for eight years. If you’re a fan, you’ll love Tombstone Shadow’s renditions of “Proud Mary,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” “Down on the Corner,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Fortunate Son,” and more.

“We try to capture the spirit of simple, good old fashioned rock n roll,” says Mike Palombo, lead guitarist.

Continuing weekend nights and special holiday dates through mid-September, the Summer Concert Series features popular solo artists such as Leif Garrett and Antonio Pontarelli and renowned groups like the Spazmatics, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, the Jay Blues Band and Martha Davis & the Motels. Talented tribute bands will include Journey tribute band called Lights, Eagles’ tribute Desperado; Pink Floyd tribute Which One’s Pink; and an Aerosmith Tribute band, Aeromyth.

While festival seating for the concerts is free, tables can be reserved for $100 (for a full table/which seats up to 10) or $50 (for a half table, which seats up to 4). Also, event sponsorships are still available. For a comprehensive schedule, click here. Please be aware that performers are subject to change without notice.
