Spike Play On Kindle

June 17, 2011 - PRLog -- In May 2011, David Jones, with the support of 2b Acting, published his play SPIKE on Kindle.  Publishing on Kindle means the book can be purchased and read on devices that support Kindle books such as the Kindle reader or Apple’s iPad with the Kindle App installed.
SPIKE is the fifth play written by David, the Jamaican born playwright who now lives and works in Yorkshire. His big break in writing for stage came after receiving a writer’s development grant from the Arts Council England Yorkshire in 2005 and winning a place on the Yorkshire Arts Circus Writer Development Programme in 2006.  Since then he has written and had produced plays such as Pimlico - a hard hitting look at the plight of Asylum Seekers in Britain,  Full English – highlighted the subject of schizophrenia in the black community and The Cleaner – A tough drama centred on the effects of child abuse.   David is also the main writer of the ‘made for Internet’ three minute weekly soap drama, ‘Today & Tomorrow’, shown online at www.2bacting.com and other media sites.
Funded by The Arts Council England UK, SPIKE was produced by 2b Acting and previewed at Thomas Danby Studio Theatre Leeds on 27th and 28th August 2009, at Seven Art Space Studio Theatre Leeds on 9th and 10th September 2009, at The Carriageworks Studio Theatre Leeds on 23rd and 24th September 2009 and at The Alhambra Studio Theatre Bradford on 16th and 17th October 2009 with a special performance at the Ilkley fringe festival on 13th October 2009.

Plans are also in place to release SPIKE as a bound book available on Amazon.com and other book outlets.
