By: Blueberry PR This innovative form of exercise is also supported by Hugh Robertson, Minister for Sport and the Olympics, who is keen to endorse the sport and promote female sport participation -although Cardio Tennis is fun for all. Cardio Tennis classes, run by South Coast Tennis, are set to become a regular feature at Cross-in-Hand Lawn Tennis Club and Horam Tennis Club. Luke Digweed Director of South Coast Tennis said: “We’ve had a lot of interest in the classes. It’s a fun way for the whole family to keep fit together. So far we have planned to hold two cardio classes a week but, if interest continues to rise, we will look at increasing the number.” There are drills for absolute beginners through to advanced players, all of which provide you with a great cardio workout while improving skill. Cardio Tennis is more fun than working out in a gym or other forms of exercise. The session takes place on a tennis court and is run by a South Coast Tennis qualified coach. Music is played during the session to help create a high-energy atmosphere and add motivation. Participants wear heart-rate monitors so they can see if they are working hard enough (or too hard). The monitors also provide an accurate summary of the session, including how many calories have been burned.
