UK Tissot Watches Ambassador Makes Personal Appearance at MotoGP Stand

June 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Watch fans who visited a Tissot watches stand at last weekend’s MotoGP Silverstone circuit got the chance to meet up-and-coming racing star, Bradley Smith.

For most motorsport fans, the focus is on the top levels of the sport, such as Formula 1 or MotoGP. However, there are other areas of the sport to keep an eye on such as Moto2 – the development league for younger riders and where Tissot UK Brand Ambassador Brit Bradley Smith is making a big impact this year.

On 12 June, Smith impressed during his home race at Silverstone, finishing second on a desperately wet track that saw the field struggle simply to stay mounted on their rides. The second place saw his first podium finish in his six races since switching from 125cc racing.

Smith had a fantastic start off the grid, moving to 13th on the first lap after starting back at 28th. He steadily made his way through the field, at one point locking horns with fellow Brit Scott Redding.

Following the race, Bradley made his way to the Tissot watches stand operated by staff from The Watch Hut’s parent company T. H. Baker, where he met fans and signed autographs.

After spending five seasons earning his spurs in the 125 class, Bradley Smith moved up to 600cc Moto2 bikes this season riding for the Tech 3 team in the intermediate category.

Smith, a graduate of the Red Bull MotoGP Academy and a former runner-up in the Spanish CEV 125 Championship, made his World Championship debut in 2006 and finished runner up in the 125cc championship in the 2009 season.  He started as title favourite in 2010 and finished fourth overall.

With riders like Tissot ambassador Thomas Luthi also riding in Moto2, the future looks bright for the future of this sport.
