Follow on Google News | MEDIA ADVISORY: Panel to discuss ‘A Paradigm Shift in California’s Energy Environment’Hosted by the Edmund G. “Pat” Brown Institute of Public Affairs
By: Paul Browning The shift, eventually becoming national in scope, features an increasing turn toward renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, geo-thermal, and away from traditional fossil sources. While many Californians embrace this trend—going increasingly green and sustainable— Many wonder how California and those positioned to accommodate this paradigm shift will make it work. Does the necessary capacity and infrastructure exist? Who does this new approach to energy sustainability most benefit? Who will pick up the tab? Moderated by Mary Leslie of the Los Angeles Business Council, the panel will include: • Samuel Kang, Greenlining Institute; • Catherine Sandoval, California Public Utilities Commission; • Marc Ulrich, Southern California Edison. WHEN/WHERE: Thursday, June 16, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. For media only. Call 323/343-3044 for more information. Supported by KPCC, the panel is sponsored by The Edmund G. “Pat” Brown Institute of Public Affairs, which is housed on campus at California State University, Los Angeles. The event is part of the 2011 California Agenda Series, which is sponsored by Southern California Edison, Wells Fargo, Sony Pictures and Vons. The California Agenda, a component of the Pat Brown Institute’s Public Policy Education Program, was created to educate and engage leaders and individuals from across the sectors on significant state, regional, and local public policy issues.
