This session is designed to give all levels of nonprofit development staff and volunteers charged with the task of identifying grant funding opportunities and writing grant proposals a detailed overview of winning processes.

The agenda includes: Finding state and national grant makers; matching funder priorities to your needs and to your long-range strategic planning goals; writing award winning narrative sections for the New York/New Jersey Common Grant Application format, and understanding expectations of private and public sector grantmakers.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to understand:  

   How to identify and quality potential grant funding opportunities.
   How to approach potential funders initially to ascertain their level of interest in your organization, its needs, and receiving a follow-up funding request.
   How to target your grant proposal to the funder’s current areas of interest.
   How to incorporate needs and solutions research into a grant proposal.
   How to avoid the fatal mistakes that results in a funding rejection notice.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Bev Browning
