Casting-Out Weakness And Restriction With ATS PulseFlow Exhaust ManifoldsATS Diesel Manifolds Provide Superior Airflow And Prevent Cracking And Overheating
By: Matt Bozarth - ATS Diesel As the diesel engine performs its job, the temperature of the exhaust manifold sees rapid shifts from hot to cool, and the metal experiences a substantial amount of expansion and contraction. Due to a thinner wall structure and lower-grade materials used for casting on such a large scale, the heating and cooling cycles eventually cause the factory manifold to crack. Once the manifold is cracked, the exhaust gasses which power the turbo begin to escape and cause inefficiency. ATS Diesel’s exhaust manifolds are cast from an exclusively blended High-Silicon- In addition to having larger mandrel-shaped internal ports for increased airflow and reduced back-pressure, the ATS manifolds feature a special multi-piece design in which the sections are connected by a ball flange, which allows the manifold to expand and contract during engine heat cycles, without cracking or breaking (which becomes even more important with engine power upgrades - due to increased hot/cold temperature differentials) Website URL: http://www.atsdiesel.com/ # # # ATS invents, designs, manufactures, and sells over 600 of the world's most innovative diesel truck performance products for towing, off-road, recreation, or racing.
