District Heights, MD (Tuesday, June 14th, 2011) – First Class Sports Academy was excited when Sacramento Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins stopped by. Yesterday First Class Sports Academy (FCSA) youth were extremely surprised when Cousins came by to speak to them, and demonstrated a few of his signature high flying dunks.  In just a few short days school will end, but members of FCSA will have something to talk about all summer. Co-founder of FCSA says “it’s always great to have someone the kids look up too come in and give them some encouragement. It shows them that hard work indeed pays off.”  In a demonstration drill one lucky camper was even granted the opportunity to throw Cousins an alley-oop.  DeMarcus Cousins, a center for the Sacramento Kings, recently finished his first NBA season with a great start.

Speaking of encouragement just last week DTLR, Unruly Records, and 93.9 WKYS DJ QuickSilva stopped by the camp and spoke to the youth last week. He, accompanied with a camera and crew from NBC national news desk, shared the story of his success and how the work you put in today helps you to build a better tomorrow. DJ Quicksilva and his wife Ashley created “A Silva Lining,” an organization also geared toward helping youth in their community.

FCSA started out earlier this year as an after school sports program for aspiring young athletes. The after school sports program was such a success, FCSA received an overwhelming demand. In response to this demand they have decided to extend the program by offering a summer camp. Like the after school program, the summer athletic and academic camp will provide the same types of sports programs such as basketball, boxing, and cheerleading. These programs will encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude and mutual respect. The FCSA facility is located at The Capital Sports Complex, 6417 Marlboro Pike District Heights, MD. For more information about First Class Sports Academy registration email FCSA at info@FirstClassSportsAcademy.com or call 301.379.0563. You can also log on to their website at www.FirstClassSportsAcademy.com. Stay connected with FCSA by liking them on facebook (www.facebook.com/FCSportsAcademy) or following them on twitter (www.twitter.com/FCSportsAcademy).
