Miami Executive to compete with Best Fitness Women in the World in the 2011 Fitness Universe Pageant

June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- April Donelson of the Welcome Channel for Miami & the Beaches, named "Top 20 Under 40" for the city's best young executives by Brickell Magazine, will be competing in this year's Fitness Universe Pageant.

The Fitness Universe Pageant is part of the Muscle Mania Fitness Weekend, www.universeweekend.com, taking place June 16th through June 18th which entails over 500 competitors competing in fitness, body building, bikini, figure and model competitions, with Live Webcast on ESPN 3 http://universeweekend.com/webcast.htm

The Fitness Universe Pageant begins Friday, June 17th at 7:00pm. Ms. Donelson will compete with the top fitness athletes in the world, performing a fitness routine of 2 minutes in length, and also in a swimsuit round. Beginning dance and gymnastics at the age of 3 in Victoria, Texas, April went on to achieve her childhood dream of becoming Florida State University's Feature Twirler, a position she held throughout her college career. Being introduced and performing in front of 80,000+ people each Fall Saturday as part of the pre-game festivities and halftime shows at FSU Football Games, her position included travels and performances in all major away games and FSU Bowl Appearances, including 3 BCS College Football National Championships: the Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Orange Bowl, and Bowl Parades. Ms. Donelson was awarded the Medal of Honor on behalf of the Marching Chiefs in 2000. She is an accomplished Sales and Marketing Executive with a background in the luxury real estate, multimedia, and tourism markets. Ms. Donelson currently serves as Director of Sales and Marketing for The Welcome Channel, Inc. – owned by Broadway Muitimedia Inc. -with initiatives in New York City, Miami, and Las Vegas markets providing in-room visitor entertainment programming for exclusive hotel and resort locations, in-flight programming for Jet Blue Airlines, and Sprint TV partnerships. Exclusively handling all sales and marketing activities for the Miami market, she works together with nearly every major worldwide event choosing to call the Magic City home, in addition to working closely with business owners, real estate developers, and government officials alike to ensure marketing initiatives are implemented and executed in the international and domestic tourism market centric to Miami & the Beaches. Ms. Donelson was honored to have been selected and featured on the cover, and within Brickell Magazine’s “Top 20 under Forty” for Miami Executives. She is a 2002 graduate of Florida State University, and holds a B.S. in Marketing.

Ms. Donelson currently serves as Secretary for the Leading Ladies League Inc., a non-profit organization which fosters volunteerism, fellowship, and mentoring services for at-risk women, adolescent girls, and children.
