Gas to liquids is making a comeback with the next decade expected to see a boom in GTL production.

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 14, 2011 - As the industry looks to the coming decade, the fundamentals are lining up in favour of GTL as never before. Several technologies are now proven at scale, and new small-scale technologies are on their way to fruition. Natural gas is more plentiful – and thus cheaper – than previously expected, thanks to the unconventional-gas revolution, while markets for oil products are expected to tighten. Finally, construction and finance costs have eased from their highs in 2008. For GTL, the future has never looked brighter.

SMi Group's 14th annual Gas to Liquids conference will investigate the latest technologies and developments at the world's largest GTL plants, including Pearl and Escravos, address the challenges the industry faces and what the future holds for GTL.

The speaker line up includes Daniel Ashade, Deputy Project Manager for the Escravos GTL project at Chevron who will examine the unique and unanticipated challenges in executing the GTL project in the Niger Delta.  This session will also investigate the innovative solutions and novel contracting strategies, workforce productivity enhancement programs and robust community engagement initiatives which Chevron have implemented.
