The winners of the INAA.com Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2011 are...

The winners of the INAA.com Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards 2011 were announced on the evening of the 12th June 2011 at the glitzy and glamorous ceremony at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow.
 
June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Nominations came in droves from all over Scotland suggesting the general public were eager to ensure that their favourite and most trusted salons and beauticians would not miss out on the coveted Titles. Waves of nominations were still arriving right up to the closing date deadline meaning the Awards were a very tight contest. Managing Director of INAA.com and host of the Awards ceremony, Joanne Reid said, “The anticipation and eagerness felt from beauty therapists and hair salons up and down the country in the run up to the Awards ceremony proved that the night was bound to be a success! We are very proud of all those nominees who were shortlisted and of course the eventual winners. It is with great pride that INAA.com has been able to support and reward the hair and beauty industry within Scotland, hosting a night of celebration, fun and very importantly raising money for our charity partner CP Sport.”

Over 400 people attended the Awards including The Only Way is Essex’s Mark Wright with fiancée Lauren Goodger, Nicola Goodger, Glasgow Central MP Anas Sarwar and it was also one of the first appearances by the newly crowned Miss Scotland, Jennifer Reoch.

And the winners are...

Beautician of the Year sponsored by FirmSlim and presented by the owner of FirmSlim, Pamela Kharikhou, and Michael Murphy, International Sales Manager went to Michelle Beer, The Greenroom, Dundee.

Make up Specialist of the Year sponsored by Sienna X and presented by Debbie Sheridan, Regional Business Development Manager for Sienna X, went to Deborah Clarke, Deborah’s Beauty in the City, Glasgow.

Nail Technician of the Year sponsored by Glasgow Beauty Guide and presented by the Editor of Glasgow Beauty Guide, Tanina Baronello went to Samantha Grant, Polish Nail and Beauty, Aberdeen.      

Cosmetic Therapist of the Year sponsored by Firmslim and presented by the owner of Firmslim Pamela Kharikhou went to Siobhan Scott, Body and Mind, Milngavie.

Spa of the Year sponsored by Today’s Great Deal and presented by Ron Morrison of Today’s Great Deal went to Adore Beauty, Livingston (accepted by Vicki Whitelaw of Adore).

Junior Stylist of the Year presented by Miss Scotland 2011 went to Jenna Platt, Ego Hair Design, Inverness.

Colour Technician of the Year sponsored by Lauren’s Way and presented by Lauren Goodger and her sister, Nicola Goodger went to Colin McAndrew, Medusa, Edinburgh.

Men’s Stylist of the Year sponsored by Sculpta Cosmetic Clinic and and presented by Charles Hamilton of Sculpta Cosmetic Clinic and went to Zak Coldicutt, New ID, Glasgow.

Women’s Stylist of the Year sponsored by Sculpta Cosmetic Clinic and presented by Charles Hamilton of Sculpta Cosmetic Clinic and went to Louise Dunnachie, Deborah’s Beauty in the City, Glasgow.

Salon Design of the Year judged by Olymp Salon Design and presented by Glasgow Central MP, Anas Sarwar went to The Greenroom, Dundee (accepted by Salon Owner Zoe Linton).

Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by INAA.com and presented by INAA.com founder and Managing Director of Joanne Reid went to Rita Rusk.

Recognised throughout the world as one of the most progressive and innovative forces in the hairdressing industry. Rita Rusk was the First woman to be awarded the prestigious British Hairdresser of the year title, named best hairdresser in the world by the French fashion magazine Metamorphose not once but four times. Throughout her career she continually created new looks and techniques, sharing her ideas with other hairdressers at shows and seminars all over the world and also developing new and revolutionary tools, enabling hairdressers to create these looks. One of these inventions - The Blades collection of scissors made an incredible impact on the hairdressing world, allowing hairdressers to incorporate texture into their haircuts. So unique were the scissors they are exhibited in the design Museum in London.

Beauty Salon of the Year sponsored by INAA.com and presented by INAA.com founder and Managing Director Joanne Reid and The Only Way is Essex’s Mark Wright went to Jacquie’s Beauty, Dumfries (accepted by Salon owner Jacquie Brown).

Entertainment on the night was provided by Scotland’s most exciting new singing talent, Glaswegian Cusick Jnr and The West End Jazz Quartet.
