C3i to Present during the 47th DIA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL /19 - 23 June,2011/

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- C3i, the leader in clinical technology support  services for the life sciences industry,  will discuss  practices to maintain and process information derived from imaging data in oncology during the 47th  DIA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL /19 - 23 June 2011/. Kevin Shea, Senior Solutions Architect at C3i, will deliver a presentation ‘Comparison of RECIST 1.0 and 1.1: Impact on Data Management Processes’  on Wednesday, June 22nd .

The introduction of an updated RECIST 1.1  (Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors) standard in January 2009 and the extended transition period, during which some studies continue to utililze RECIST 1.0,  has presented  challenges to clinical data managers in oncology trials.  Mr. Shea  will present a review of the changes incorporated in RECIST 1.1 and discuss the factors that may determine its use in trials of certain interventional types. The presentation will  discuss how the transition to RECIST 1.1 and managing a portion of trials in each standard can impact the processes and procedures that clinical data management groups have developed over time. Mr. Shea will provide suggestions for extending these processes and developing new methods to best utilize and process data generated in studies with the new criteria.

The presentation will be part of  the‘Best Practices in Managing External Data’ session, Track 8 “Research Data and Content Management”. The presentation will take place in room W470b on June  22nd  /Wednesday/ from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm.
