BookExpo America Success Story for Strategic Book Group

Authors, booksellers and industry representatives from around the world attended BookExpo America (BEA) May 23-27 at Javits Convention Center in New York City.

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK – Authors, booksellers and industry representatives from around the world attended BookExpo America (BEA) May 23-27 at Javits Convention Center in New York City. Some 25 Strategic Book Group authors attended the event. Among the success stories to unfold at the convention was a TV interview for Strategic Book Group (SBG) author Laura Burke of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who took part as an Author in Book (AIB).

Burke, who wrote the murder mystery If Walls Could Scream, was interviewed by Stephen Kaufman, producer of his own cable TV show, "Hanshi’s World." He also noted in his blog (http://www.redroom.com/blog/stephen-kaufman-0/book-expo-america-bea-%E2%80%93-a-recap-and-some-reviews) that attending the show “gave me an additional new perspective on the extent that publishers were going to in order to promote their authors,” adding that “publishers were wide-open to new ideas. ‘Paper’ ain't dead yet!”

Kaufman’s take on Burke’s book: “This is a goodie: If Walls Could Scream by Laura Burke. The mountains and rural farmland of North Carolina provide the setting for the mysterious disappearance of two teenage girls who simply vanish. I'm not going to go into the ‘serial’ thing about whether or not that is the case, but I had issues with trying to figure out who was actually responsible for whatever is going on. I purposely write this review in the manner that I am because the book is that intense and has the reader constantly guessing and then discovering that they are completely off base in their assumptions. Laura Burke has the genre down pat. Published by Strategic Book Group, ISBN 978-1-60911-709-2.”

Strategic Book Group represents over 10,000 writers, 25 of which appeared BEA, making a splash in the publisher’s exhibit booth.
