June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Lake Buena Vista, FL -- Melissa Loble, vice president of client strategy for GoingOn Networks, Inc., has been selected to present at the “EduComm 2011, University Business Leadership Institute” conference being held at the Walt Disney World Resort Hilton, June 13 to 15.  Ms. Loble’s presentation is entitled, “Don’t Friend Me: Pragmatic Approaches to the Use of Social Web Technologies in Education” and will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday June 15.  This presentation will examine how pervasive the impacts of the social web have become.  Ms. Loble will outline what this means for institutions of higher learning and how social technologies can be leveraged to enhance the student experience.  The session will review the Community Commons Project at University of Pennsylvania to discuss deepening student engagement, faculty participation, and learning outcomes through learning communities.

The EduComm 2011 conference theme is “Shaping the Future of Higher Education,” and accordingly brings together thought-leaders, innovators, and industry expert speakers to present, discuss, and collaborate on the growing challenges and opportunities impacting higher education today.  As a key player in the drive to provide technology that addresses those challenges and opportunities, GoingOn Networks will be exhibiting at EduComm 2011 and will showcase their academic engagement platform in booth 315 of the conference exhibit hall.
