“40 Years Of Injustice” is an open-to-the-public luncheon at Amistad de Los Angeles. There will be a panel of outspoken legal minds committed to ending the Drug War, to publicize the message that TREATMENT WORKS—INCARCARATION DOESN’T.

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- On June 17, 2011 from 12:30-2:00pm in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Nixon’s War On Drugs, well-known criminal attorney Darren Kavinoky and retired Superior Court Judge Harold Shabo will be the keynote speakers at “40 Years of Injustice.” This event is sponsored by Drug Policy Alliance and Writers In Treatment, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, CA.  Mr. Kavinoky, Judge Shabo, true crime author Burl Barer, Lt. Diane Goldstein and others will be discussing the failed drug war and its implications on law enforcement and treatment. This luncheon is at Amistad de Los Angeles.

Mr. Kavinoky has been featured on CNN and every major local news affiliate, and Mr. Barer is the Edgar Award-winning author of “The Saint,” as well as other acclaimed true crime titles. Lt. Diane Goldstein is a 21-year veteran of law enforcement, retired from the Redondo Beach Police Department.
