June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- New Jersey native DJ Absurd gets set for the June 28th release of his debut producer compilation, Flying Colors through his newly formed Absurd Entertainment imprint under Diamond Music Group. The project boasts a consortium of both legendary and underground icons such as Craig G, Ransom, Armegeddon, Termanology, Pacewon, Jaz-O, Trife Da God (Trife Diesel), Big Lou, Copywrite and Blaq Poet, among others.

Absurd, who grew up during Hip-Hop’s Golden Era, has been both a fan and an active participant of the culture ever since.  By the mid nineties, Absurd’s passion for hip-hop would manifest into an ambition to become a disc jockey.  Absurd caught on quick, where he spent the greater half of the decade honing in on his technique, expanding his record archive and establishing his musical niche.   It was around the turn of the millennium where Absurd’s skill set as a deejay evolved into the role of producer.  Influenced by beat smith legends such as The RZA, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre & Mobb Deep’s Havoc, Absurd began to concoct his own production formula that would soon become sought after by much of the local New Jersey underground hip-hop scene.

Over the next several years, Absurd would go onto launch his own series of street albums titled The Resume (Volumes 1-5) that exhibit his diverse production talent coupled with an impressive lineup of guest appearances that include Afu Ra, Killah Priest, Kaze, Cymarshall Law, Pumpkinhead, and REKS, in addition to some of the most aspiring talent in the Garden State.

By 2011, Absurd’s tireless work ethic and production talent would achieve new heights, landing the scratch composition based intro track for The Undergods (Canibus & Keith Murray) acclaimed LP, In Gods We Trust (Rbc Records).  As the summer quick approaches, Absurd gets ready to drop some more heat with his opus Flying Colors, an EP that cleverly distinguishes itself from the typical producer based compilation albums.  The project’s singles include the Jersey themed “Ain’t Hard to Find”, featuring Dead Poets & Pacewon, the album titled “Flying Colors”, featuring the originator Jaz-O, underground word smith Copywrite and the soulful Mela Machinko (Pharoahe Monch) and finally, “Slap Nerds”, the Craig G enlisted battle track that fires warning shots to those that tarnish the culture.

Flying Colors is undeniably stockpiled with tremendous talent and conceptually driven music.  Songs such as “Audio Evolution” skillfully breakdown the evolution of musical formats from its analog roots as vinyl to our digital future of MP3s and file sharing, while songs like “In My World” featuring the lyrical Termanology and Big Lou paint vivid pictures of the world in which they live, dissecting compelling imagery that accentuate a darker side of an otherwise colorful album.  When asked about his approach to making music in today’s hip-hop generation driven by gimmicks and carbon copied singles, Absurd humbly states “I just follow my heart, and not what's hot at the moment".

With all of Absurd’s accolades and involvements, he is quite deserving of being categorized as one of the next great producer deejays on the come-up.  Check out DJ Absurd every Monday evening from 10pm-12am through his “Ear 2 The Streets” radio program that broadcasts live from Kean University (Union, New Jersey).
