APS to Host an Exhibit at AWHONN 2011 Annual Convention

APS to host exhibit showcasing their perinatal curriculum at AWHONN 2011 Annual Convention.

June 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Advanced Practice Strategies (APS), a leading provider of education solutions for perinatal safety, today announced their intention to host an exhibit at the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) 2011 Annual Convention. The annual convention is the premier gathering of over 3,000 OB, neonatal, and women's health nursing professionals and service providers dedicated to learning more about the latest clinical applications, practices, and education offerings in their field.

APS will showcase their extensive eLearning course offerings, including their Perinatal Safety Curriculum, consisting of courses in Advanced Fetal Assessment and Monitoring, Managing Shoulder Dystocia, Operative Vaginal Delivery, and Postpartum Hemorrhage, as well as a monthly Competency Maintenance series designed to reinforce clinicians’ understanding of key concepts from the core training. This innovative curriculum, consistent with the national standards for perinatal care proposed by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), focuses on clinically rich, interactive, team-oriented training and addresses many of the main drivers of obstetrical claims and adverse outcomes. Introduction to Electronic Fetal Monitoring, a primary course in the curriculum that was designed to foster a common language for obstetric caregivers and to standardize fetal heart rate tracing interpretation, was developed in partnership with and is accredited by AWHONN. Additional APS courseware includes topics in surgical safety, patient safety, internal medicine, and core risk content.

“APS is delighted to be attending the AWHONN Annual Convention for its 6th year in a row,” stated John Harrington, APS Founder and Chief Mission Officer. “Our goal is to demonstrate how we can empower these nurses with cutting edge knowledge that enables them to deliver the highest quality and safest care possible.”
