June 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Smartphones and apps will be the key driver in the future success of mobile advertising as the evolving technology provides an ample platform for app developers and advertisers.

In a Telecoms IQ interview with Gtext Media, CEO Aimes Bositampen explained that smartphone technology has evolved to a point where all companies should invest in a mobile website in order to have a greater chance in completing more sales.

"The more smartphone users there are, the more the mobile industry grows. This means the accessibility of the internet needs to evolve and become cheaper otherwise there is no point to the smartphone."

It's not just access to the internet that will determine growth within the mobile advertising industry. According to Aimes brands aren't developing mobile sites or apps quick enough to keep up with users, although smartphones allow brands to become more user friendly.

"Gtext Media's concept was bought about 5 years ago but we didn't have the technology to grow until two years ago when we created an app. The thing with smartphone technology is that it has bought us the ability to become more user friendly as users are able to engage more freely."

Aimes also explained that although SMS advertising has got a slightly negative image, smartphone technology can attempt to shift this perception with a more subtle approach.

The impact of smartphone technology on mobile advertising and the perception of SMS advertising are just two topics that will be covered by Telecoms IQ's Mobile Advertising 2011 conference. For more information, please visit www.mobileadvertisingeurope.com.
