June 9, 2011 - PRLog -- ABBA remains as popular as ever with UK gig-goers according to Aloud.com. Ticket sales for the ultimate tribute show to the Swedish pop superstars are leaving sales for the likes of JLS trailing in their wake.

The success of hit musical Mamma Mia! on both the big screen and in theatres across the world has sent interest in ABBA soaring and introduced their back catalogue to a new audience.

While a reunion for the one of the most successful acts in music history looks no closer to coming to fruition nearly two decades after Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Björn went their separate ways, fans are looking elsewhere to get their fix of the foursome and demand is high for gig tickets for the upcoming ABBA The Show dates.

Over 100,000 fans flocked to venues across Europe for the most recent ABBA The Show tour and it is expected to make a triumphant return to the UK in November.  In total, ABBA The Show has been performed in as many as 33 different countries and played to over two million people worldwide.

And it seems that ABBA The Show is giving leading British boyband JLS a serious run for their money. The 2008 X-Factor runners-up have shot to stardom since appearing on the talent show and enjoyed a string of number one hit singles, including Everybody In Love.

Interest is high in their upcoming summer dates, although Aloud.com – the leading ticket website – reports that ABBA The Show is proving more popular and is selling more concert tickets. Simon Harper, Marketing Manager at http://www.aloud.com, said: “Whether you’re a Dancing Queen or a Super Trouper, ABBA’s musical legacy continues to live on in the form of ABBA The Show.

“We’ve been extremely encouraged by the interest in the forthcoming tour on Aloud.com, so much so that current sale figures for ABBA The Show are better than those for the JLS dates. I’m sure the JLS boys will welcome the competition for music tickets and it just goes to show how diverse the music scene is here in the UK at the moment.”

Other acts currently enjoying bumper ticket sales include Bryan Adams, James Blunt, Snoop Dogg and veteran rockers Status Quo, who are still going strong some 44 years after starting out.
