Hair Fitness Supports Efforts to End Domestic Violence

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun. 8, 2011 - The stylists at Hair Fitness, the areas leading innovative hair and beauty salon recently headed up an effort at their Plymouth Massachusetts salon to participate in the “Pretty in Purple” week which ran from May 1st through the 7th.

A percentage of the salons services were donated that week and were combined with donations from clients,for the Purple Ribbon Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity.

The money generated will go to help children that are orphaned because of Domestic Violence, for such services as counseling, financial assistance to meet clothing, food and medical needs, therapy camps and long term advocacy.

Facts about Domestic Violence:

1 in 4 women, 1 in 9 men will be victims at some point in their lives.

On average, 4 women will die today in the U.S.

4,000 children will be orphaned this year in the U.S.

1 in 3 teens are abused by a dating partner.

Domestic abuse and dating violence are preventable.
