June 8, 2011 - PRLog -- If you need to monitor the temperature in a remote location with no access to mains power then it is possible to power the Icarus via a battery.

Due to popular demand we have tested this with a YUASA 12V, 17Ah battery and had an Icarus running continuously for one week recording the temperature every 30 minutes and sending the temperature datalog email once a day, we also simulated 2 temperature warning messages per day. Sensormetrix recommends you check the GSM signal in your area first before using this solution

The Icarus battery can be recharged using a standard car battery recharger unit as found in Halfords or most hardware stores.
